The Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children is Australia’s largest independent special educator. RIDBC provides a wide range of education services to children who have significant hearing and/or vision loss, including children who have additional disabilities.
We also provide services nationally through RIDBC Teleschool which assists families and children in regional and remote areas of every Australian state and territory.
In affiliation with the University of Newcastle, RIDBC also conducts a centre for research and professional studies in the education of children with impaired hearing or vision.
RIDBC is one of Australia’s major charities. Through education we seek to close the gap between the life experiences of children with hearing or vision impairment, and those without.
